Roberta is survived by her husband of 29 years, Keith; her children, Brian (Jacque) Dickson of Lincoln, NE, Patrick (Beth) Dickson of Ft. Collins, CO, Julie (Thad) Kokesh of Rapid City, Karen (Sean) Fahy of Carpinteria, CA, and Kimberly Goben of Rapid City; stepchildren Heidi (Mitch) Nelson of Satsuma, AL and Erika O'Connell of Rapid City; and her beloved grandchildren Benjamin (Cassie), Taggart, Sam, Bailey, Taylor, Riley, Ty and Markie, and step grandchildren Hannah, Logan, Mackenzie and Liam.

She is also survived by her brother Douglas (Carol) Schubert of Gaylord, MI, nieces Shari (Scott) Shaver, Nancy Spilker, and great nieces/nephew, Cassidy, Madison, Morgan and Silas—all of TX.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis and Helen McQuiston, beloved nephew Gregory Spilker and sister Barbara (Wayne) Spilker.

Born on February 11, 1946, in Grand Island, NE, Roberta grew up with her big brother, Douglas, and big sister, Barbara. She always described her early life as full of fun, being blessed to have loving parents and kind-hearted siblings who looked after her. She was a cheerleader in school, and she enjoyed time with friends.

Roberta graduated from Grand Island Senior High in 1964, where she met David Dickson. They married on January 8, 1966 and were married for 28 years. They spent the early years of their marriage in Grand Island. Roberta devoted herself to raising their five children—Brian, Pat, Julie, and twins, Karen and Kim. They made Rapid City their home in 1983. During her childrearing years, Roberta continued to enjoy her friendships through bowling leagues, bridge clubs, and countless sports and school events.

In adulthood, Roberta pursued an education in nursing at Western Dakota Technical College, graduating at the top of her class. Always interested in surgery, she worked as an oral surgeon assistant—the perfect fit for her.

Roberta married Keith Brugger on March 11, 1995. They connected through sports, both of them being dedicated to their softball playing daughters. Together they enjoyed sporting events and travel, dining, and most of all, spending time with family and friends, opening their home to all. They enjoyed their strong church family connections.

After retiring from nursing, Roberta worked at Uniform Center (formerly Rudolph's), remaining a friendly face and helpful hand to the medical community. She served her church faithfully.

Roberta—Pixie, Bert, Mimi—demonstrated her love by showing up and being present. She will be remembered by her unwavering service to her family and the joy she found by spending time with loved ones. She sacrificed and served until her last moments on earth. May her legacy of service, grit and determination inspire many.
