It is with deep sadness that we announce that Roberta Lee Tucker, age 88, passed away peacefully at home in Rapid City, South Dakota, surrounded by her beloved family. Born in March 1937 in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, she was the cherished daughter of Arthur Roland Hudspeth and Mary Florence Powell and the eldest of two children.

Roberta attended Colorado State University, where she earned a degree in education. It was during this time that her relationship with Richard Harold Tucker, whom she had met in high school, blossomed. They married on March 16, 1958, in the campus chapel, beginning a devoted union that spanned 67 years.

Together, Roberta and Richard operated a veterinary clinic, where she played a vital role in supporting both the animals and their owners. Her dedication and compassion made her an indispensable part of the practice and the community it served.

Roberta had a deep love for animals—especially cows—and enjoyed reading, ice hockey, and spending time outdoors. She treasured her childhood home of Steamboat Springs and embraced adventure through snowmobiling with her family. Her gentle spirit and generous heart left a lasting impression on all who knew her.

Above all else, Roberta was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She is survived by her husband, Richard Harold Tucker; their two children, Lynn Richard Tucker and Glenda Lee Royce; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
