RAPID CITY--Rod H. Cower, 78, Rapid City, died Tuesday, April 28, 2009, at Rapid City Regional Hospital. He was born Sept. 5, 1930, the son of Robert H. and Blanche (Hebert) Cower at Roxbury, N.Y. Rod graduated from Oneonta (N.Y.) High School in 1949. He never married and lived and worked in New York City, West Palm Beach, Fla., Faith, and Rapid City. He was employed for a time as a chef and baker at the Arrowhead Country Club, Canyon Lake Club, Talley's Restaurant and Daisy Dell. Survivors include his brother, Father D. Craig Cower, Rapid City, and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents. Christian Wake services will be at 7 p.m. today at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Perpetual Help. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 30, at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, with Rev. William Zandri presiding. Inurnment will be at a later date at St. Patrick's Cemetery at Plainview.
