RAPID CITY | Rodney H. Meador, 83, died Sunday, Jan. 10, 2016. He was born Nov. 28, 1932, to Marguerite (Fritz) and Howard Meador in Casper, WY.
He graduated from Lead High School in 1951 and from South Dakota School of Mines & Technology in 1956.
Rod and Marlene (Anderson) Meador were married March 24, 1953, in Lead.
Rod was a businessman and engineer in Rapid City. He devoted much of his time to his church and the Rapid City Club for Boys. His love and devotion towards his ailing wife, his quick wit, and the love that he had for his family will forever be his legacy.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marlene; his parents; son-in-law, Jerry Demos; and sister-in-law, Kathleen Parsons.
He is survived by his daughter, Sharon "Shari" Demos, Rapid City; son, Kevin (Cindy) Meador, Centennial, CO; son, David (Lori) Meador, Las Vegas, NV;
eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and his brother, Richard (Beverly) Meador, Paso Robles, CA.
Rod and his family would like to thank the terrific staff and the residents at Westhills Village for their loving care and friendship during his residency there.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 16, at Trinity Lutheran Church, with Rev. Wilbur Holz officiating. Interment will be at Mountain View Cemetery.
Memorials have been established for Trinity Lutheran Church and the Rapid City Club for Boys.
