Roger Duane Southard, 80, of Rapid City S. Dakota previously of Augusta Ky, passed away on Oct. 17th 2014. He was born Oct 3 1934 to Earl and Rachel Irene Southard in Westmorland, KS. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army serving in Korea. He was also a salesman, and business owner. He leaves behind his wife of 55 years, Nancye Southard, 3 daughters Angela Niemeier(Steve Patchin), of Independence MO, Robin (Chuck) Bradbury and Tracie (Rick) Frederick all of Augusta KY and 6 grandchildren, Danielle, Ciara, and Kyle Niemeier. Justin Barrett, Tasha Sharp and Cody Frederick all of Augusta. He also leaves behind 6 great grandchildren and a brother William (June) Southard of Rapid City. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers Reynold, Norman and Earl Jr., 5 sisters, Valeta Pearlstein, Betty Able, Earlene Henry, Rebecca Upchurch, and Deanna Baumburger, 1 brother-in-law and 1 sister-in-law. Services for Roger will be at Oshiem & Schmidt Funeral Home at 1 pm on Wednesday Oct 22nd, 2014 at Rapid City. Burial will be at a later date in Augusta, KY.
