Ronald L Deisch, 86, Rapid City died Friday, March 15 at the Platte Care Center in Platte, SD. He was born on June 10, 1926 in Presho, SD to Mable and Lester Deisch. He grew up in Presho and graduated in 1944. He served in the Navy from 1944 - 1948. He married Delores Johnson (Presho) in 1952 and they made their home in Rapid City. Ron and Delores raised three daughters. He had his own business, Ron's Rug Service, and later worked for JCPenneys. Ron loved the outdoors and was on a shooting team, taught gun safety, and was an avid hunter, fisherman, and outdoor photographer. He loved to sing, dance, golf, and cut firewood. After he retired, he and Delores enjoyed traveling and spending time with their 4 granddaughters. Ron was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church and Canyon Lake Senior Citizens. He is preceded in death by his wife, parents, and 5 siblings. He is survived by 3 daughters, Deb (Tom) Gilliland of Rapid City; Shelly (Gary Brundige) Deisch of Custer State Park, and Lisa (Briann) Larson of Kimball, SD; 4 granddaughters, Amanda, Rebecca, Maggie, and Ally; one great grandson, Hawkins Ronald Heath; and one brother, Fr. Raymond Deisch. Fr. Deisch will officiate at Ron's funeral mass at Blessed Sacrament Church at 4500 Jackson Blvd. The service will be at 11:00 am on Friday, March 22 followed by a luncheon. Burial will be at 2:00 pm at the Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis with full military honors by Rushmore VFW Post #1273 and South Dakota Army National Guard. Because of Ron's love for the outdoors, in lieu of flowers, a memorial stone will be placed at the SD Game, Fish, and Parks Outdoor Campus West.
