RAPID CITYRose Marie Hewitt, age 68, Rapid City died Monday, September 21, 2009 at her home. Rose was born January 14, 1941 at Rock Valley, Iowa to Raymond and Tillie [Burgers] Berner. She attended school at Rock Valley and graduated from Rock Valley High School. She married Henry Lyle Hewitt at Rock Valley on July 22, 1963. They moved to Sioux Falls, SD and in 1986 they moved to Rapid City. She, along with her husband, then dedicated her life to raising her children and grandchildren. Rose was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, George. Survivors include her husband: Henry Lyle Hewitt of Rapid City; one son: Douglas [Kate] Hewitt of Rapid City; four daughters: Lenora McCollum of Rapid City, Karen [Gary Farrel] Hewitt of Coral Springs, FL, Tami [Thomas] Curttright of Rapid City, and Jami Hewitt of Rapid City; fourteen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one brother: Raymond [Billie] Berner of Longmont, CO; and two sisters: Joann [Henry] Ver Mulm of Rock Valley, IA and Thelma Mairose of LaMars, IA. Services will be 10:00 am Friday, September 25 at Peace Lutheran Church, 219 E. St. Anne Street with visitation one hour prior to the services.
