RAPID CITY--Rosella A. Olson, age 95, died peacefully in her home at Westhills Village on May 16th, 2008. She was born Feb. 20, 1913, at Zell, South Dakota, the daughter of William and Emma Kolegraff. She graduated from St. Lukes School of Nursing, Aberdeen, South Dakota, in 1934. She took postgraduate work in Public Health at the University of Minnesota and was employed by Lyman and Spink Counties as a Public Health Nurse. She married Dr. A.G. Olson August 31, 1937 at Zell. They lived in Eureka South Dakota a short time before moving to Rapid City in 1946. Rosella was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cathedral. She was an active member of Cathedral Altar Society some time ago, and also a member of Catholic Daughters of America. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. A. G. Olson, on May 16, 1986 and her brother, C.B. Kolegraff of Burbank California. Survivors include one son Dr. Robert Olson; three brothers Cy Kolegraff, Redfield South Dakota, Al Kolegraff, Santa Clara California, Art Kolegraff, Zell, South Dakota; two sisters Mary Molander, Downey California and Mildred Strohm, San Diego California; six grandchildren, Dr Jeffrey Olson, Rapid City, Jennifer Rauhouse, Lilliwaup, Washington, Jon Olson, Portland Oregon, Jaime Clemens, Gilbert, Arizona and Jason Olson and Jeremy Olson both of Rapid City; and 12 great grandchildren, Alivia, Avery, Jack, Jetzon, Taron, Tatum, Trae, Tyler, Zackary of Rapid City, and Tyler, Ryan and Cassie Clemens of Gilbert Arizona. Visitation will be from 6 until 7:30, on Wednesday, with a Christian wake service at 7:30, at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home in Rapid City. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 22, Cathedral of Our Lady of Perpetual Help with Father Bill Zandri presiding. Burial will follow at Black Hills National Cemetery. Memorials may be presented to the Cathedral of Our Lady of Perpetual Help. The family expresses gratitude to Westhills Village for 22 years of excellent care.
