Rosemary [Zimmerman] Huggins, 95, passed away on Monday, May 7, 2018 at the Good Samaritan Center, New Underwood.

Rosemary was born on May 22, 1922 at Aberdeen, SD to Martin and Johanna Zimmerman, as a child she survived polio. She graduated from high school at Eagle Butte, SD. From there, she attended college at Northern State University, Aberdeen and earned a Bachelor of Science degree. Rosemary taught school at Eagle Butte, McIntosh, Bowdle, New Underwood and Black Hawk.

In 1963, she was hired at school secretary for the newly opened Knollwood Heights School in Rapid City. She worked there until her retirement in 1985.

Rosemary met William R. Huggins when he was stationed at Weaver [Ellsworth] AFB. They marred at the base chapel in June 1952 and had three children: William, Barbara, and Robert.

Health issues prompted Rosemary to move to the Good Samaritan Center in New Underwood in 2013. She enjoyed the Christian environment, companionship and association with others. During her stay she and our family met many wonderful people, both residents and visitors.

Survivors include her sons: William, Robert [Janet] Huggins, daughter Barbara [Bob] Jacques; a granddaughter Kristin [Craig] Clark; a step-grandson and step-granddaughter: Douglas and Jessica Moser; plus six great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6:00-7:00 pm and a Catholic Wake and Rosary will be held at 7:00 pm Wednesday, May 9 at St. Therese Church.

Funeral mass will be 11:00 am Thursday May 10 at St. Therese Church with burial at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis.

In lieu of flowers memorials have been established to St. Therese Church and the Shriners Crippled Children's Hospital in Chicago, IL.
