Rapid City-Roy D. "Doug" Peters, age 71 of Rapid City, died Monday, September 03, 2012 at the RCRH-Hospice of the Hills. Doug was born March 10, 1941 at Broken Bow, Nebraska to Roy Finnegan "Doc" and Martha Francis [Noel] Peters. Doug grew to adulthood on the family ranch near Thedford, NE. He always loved the Nebraska Sandhills and returned often to visit family and to hunt and fish. He was a retention specialist for Citi-Bank for many years. Survivors include special friend: Susan Thomas of Rapid City; one daughter: Sherry Peters and granddaughter: Sophie Claire Christensen of West Hartford, CT; one son: Bryan [Arana] Peters and granddaughter: Grace Catherine Peters and grandson: Finnegan Douglas Peters of Brandon, SD; and one brother: William [Susan] Peters of Lincoln, NE. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, September 8 at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home, 2700 Jackson Boulevard, with Rev. Herb Cleveland officiating. Burial will take place at 11:00 am, Monday, September 10 at the Hillcrest Cemetery at Thedford, Nebraska. Memorials may be directed to the John T. Vucurevich Foundation Cancer Clinic in Rapid City.
