Roy Dean Fuhrer, 73, passed away on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at the Michael J. Fitzmaurice South Dakota Veteran's Home in Hot Springs. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, January 23, 2026, at Black Hills National Cemetery. A funeral procession will depart from Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m.

Roy was born in Rapid City, South Dakota, on June 3, 1952, to Reuben and Clara Fuhrer. He is survived by his four siblings: Sharon, Marlin, Carolyn and David.

Roy served proudly in the United States Army in his early life. After his service, he pursued work as a carpenter and then later on the Alaska pipeline. Roy was known for his love of a good time, his adventurous spirit, and his passion for riding his Harley Davidson.

He will be remembered fondly by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
