RAPID CITY Roy Cramer Jr., 80, Rapid City, died Tuesday, Sep. 1, 2009, at Rapid City Regional Hospital. He was born July 15, 1929, at Presho to Roy and Minnie (Halgrimson) Cramer. Roy served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He married Evelyn Ruth Lien on September 10, 1954, at Presho. Roy had a long and distinguished career with the U.S. Postal Service, retiring in 1984. Roy was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved exploring the outdoors, including rock and fossil hunting. He is survived by his wife, Evy Cramer of Rapid City, daughter Sharon Steigers of Littleton, Colo., son Steve Cramer of Rapid City, and sister Myrtle Lantz of Rapid City. Roy had five grandchildren: Chadron, Marc, and Laura Steigers and Justin and Cody Cramer. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Hank Cramer and Marion Cramer, and three sisters Gertie Schoenhard, Alice Cannon, and Ruth LaCroix. Services will be at 10 AM Friday, Sep. 4, 2009, at the Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home with Rev. Herb Celveland officiating. Burial will follow at the Black Hills National Cemetery in Sturgis with military honors provided by Rushmore VFW Post 1273 and the South Dakota Army National Guard.
