Ruth Ann Grant, 94, of Rapid City, a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, died on October 9, 2012 in Rapid City. Ruth Ann Johnson was born on October 15, 1917, to Ella (Leedom) and Luis Johnson of Southampton, PA. She was married for 59 years to Dr. Albert J. Grant before his passing in 2005, and both dedicated their lives to the medical profession; AJ. as a physician and Ruth as a registered nurse. Through this work Ruth touched the lives of many people and was directly involved in the delivery of hundreds of babies into the world. Ruth was also a devout Catholic and her strong faith, positive attitude and wonderful sense of humor will be missed by those who had the privilege to know her. At the time of her passing she was surrounded by members of her family, representing four generations, all of whom loved her very much. Greatly respected and loved by all who knew her, Ruth is survived by her children, Michele (Michael) McGeeney, Peculiar, MO, Steve (Patty) Grant, Peoria, IL, David (Patricia) Grant, Whitefish MT, Maria Grant, Tampa, FL, Christopher (Teresa) Grant, Rapid City, Jackie (Ray) Dixion, Rapid City, Nikki Hanson, Salt Lake City UT, as well as 22 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Jacob Grant and three grand-children, Nicole Renee Calhoun, Scott Shane Calhoun and Brennen John Walker. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 6:30pm, Friday, October 12 at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home in Rapid City. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:00am Saturday at Blessed Sacrament Church in Rapid City, with Father Brian Lane officiating. Burial will be at Pine Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Rapid City. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be provided to kickinforkids.org, a childhood leukemia research foundation
