Ruth Baldridge Peterson, age 93, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus on Thursday, December 9, 2021. She was surrounded by all 3 of her daughters at her side in Rapid City, SD.

Ruth was born on July 13, 1928, to loving parents Charles and Lucile Baldridge in Northville, SD. Her entire life embodied loving devotion to her Lord, to her parents, her husband and three daughters. She attended Northville High School, Denver University, and Northern State University. She fell in love with her high school sweetheart, Wayne Peterson, and they were married September 5, 1948, in Ruth's parents' home. Their love grew and deepened over 68 years before Wayne passed in 2016. Their lifelong vocation of farming and ranching built such a wonderful heritage for their 3 daughters. They were blessed with three daughters: Debra, Pamela, and Valerie and with three sons-in-law: C. Fred Mateer, Kim Reed, and Pat McKenzie. Ruth also was Matriarch to 6 grandchildren: Joshua Mateer (Katie), Sarah Vogel (Scott), Nick Reed (Jennah), Cassidie Woods (Ronny), Parker McKenzie, and Ty McKenzie (Kameron, fiancé). She was blessed with 11 great-great grandchildren: Hannah, Jordan, Claire, Grace, Asher, Tiesha, Leah, Drew, Solomon, Luca, and Levi. Ruth also had 2 great great grandchildren: Rowin and Xavier.

Ruth was soft, gentle, restful, victorious, and now triumphant having possessed a "saving faith" in Jesus Christ. She never let go of His embrace...with a believing heart ...and now at His feet worshipping Him forever. She exuded Christ's love in word, in deed, and in contented stillness.

Celebration of Life service is planned for the spring of 2022 in Aberdeen, SD.
