RAPID CITY- Ruth A. Wahl. 67, Black Hawk, died Thursday, January 6, 2011 at Rapid City Regional Auxiliary Hospice House after fighting cancer for a short period of time. Ruth was born January 19, 1943 in Burke, SD. Ruth retired from Quest Telephone Company in 1990. For many years she was very involved in many activities as well as the Secretary at Divine Shepard Lutheran Church. On April 12, 1991, she married Doug Wahl. The couple lived in Champline, MN until moving to Black Hawk, SD in 1990. Survivors include her husband, Doug, Black Hawk; two daughters Cindra Dede (special friend, Dean Furney), Worthing, SD; Megan (Lee) Diede, Rapid City; one sister Deloris (Ken) Norberg, Burke; 3 grandchildren: Victoria Dede, Roxy Dede, and Hunter Diede; and one expected in May. She was preceded in death by her parents; one infant brother; three sisters: Shirley Doering, Berneice Vawser, Bernita Vosika; and one son, William Anthony Hillman. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, January 10, 2011, at Divine Shepard Lutheran Church in Black Hawk with Rev. Randy Sturzenbecher officiating. Inurnment will take place at later date in Graceland Cemetery in Burke, South Dakota. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to Divine Shepard Lutheran Church.
