Obituary

Samantha Rachelle Denekamp passed away, after giving life to her son, Hudson, on October 23, 2021 at Monument Health Hospital in Rapid City, SD. Samantha was born on April 26, 1999 to Eric and Ryan Denekamp. She was raised in Box Elder, SD where she attended the Douglas School District and graduated in 2017. The important thing about Samantha was that she was a beautiful soul both inside and out. She was bubbly, loving, and kind to everyone she met. She loved life. She loved animals, outdoors, spending time with Owen hunting and fishing and weekly dinners at Grandma Judy's. She absolutely loved being with family and friends. The only things she hated were chocolate and fish!

She met the love of her life, Owen Watkins, in 2016. After getting engaged in 2018, they planned to get married and have a beautiful life together. She became a mom the same day she went to Heaven. She was already the perfect mama, she cared for Hudson deeply and could not wait to spend her life with him. Baby Hudson was made in her image and likeness and she gave her all so that he could have life. She is our hero!

She attended BHSU and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in May of 2021. She was currently working at BMS, as a case manager who cared for those who are disabled and less fortunate. She gave them extra love, time and attention. She loved unconditionally and dedicated her life to caring for others.

Samantha's survivors include:  her son Hudson Henry and her fiancé Owen Watkins, parents Eric Denekamp and Ryan Bonawitz, her siblings Nathaniel (Grace) Klinkhammer, Caitlyn Denekamp, Abigail Denekamp, Alex and Alyssa Bonawitz, grandparents Judy Denekamp and Tom and Lorinda Collings, aunts & uncles Cathleen & Aaron Denekamp, Rachelle and Larry Dillon, Thomas and Juley Collings, Jennifer and Andy Jerke, nieces Emily Denekamp and Bryer Klinkhammer, 16 cousins, her future in-laws Robert and Danielle Watkins and family, grandma Renee, and family friend Dave Stanton.

She was preceded in death by her grandpa, Jerry Denekamp, and nephew Oliver Baptista.
