Obituary

RAPID CITY -- Sandra Kay Teeselink-Stewart was born Feb. 20, 1956, to Al and Leila Teeselink in Tyler, Minn. She attended Tyler Public School graduating in 1974. She married Bruce Hansen in June of 1974 and they later divorced. In February of 1984 she was united in marriage to Tom D. Stewart. Shortly after getting married they moved to Ridgecrest, Calif., and then to Lincoln, Calif. In April of 2000 Sandy was diagnosed with colon cancer. In December of 2005 they moved to Rapid City to be closer to kids and grandkids. In July of 2010, she and her family celebrated 10 years of being cancer-free. She was employed at Wright Vision Center and was a Mary Kay Consultant. On June 27, while visiting family in Minn., she became ill and passed away very unexpectedly on June 30, 2011, at McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls. Sandy is survived by her husband, Tom; children, Temple, Hermosa, and Tom J. (Beth), Rapid City; two grandchildren, Ashtin and Tommy, both of Rapid City; her mother Leila, Tyler, Minn.; three sisters, Deb (Terry) Denney, Ridgecrest, Calif., Bev (Lloyd) Vant Hof, Edgerton, Minn., and Rhonda (Troy) Blomme, Marshall, Minn.; a brother, Dean (Dawn) Teeselink, Waconia, Minn.; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Don and Rita Stewart, Chester; brothers-in-law, Chuck (Barb) Stewart, Lennox, Jeff (Norma) Stewart, Luverne, Minn., Mike (Lori) Stewart, Lennox, Scott (Chris) Stewart , Sioux Falls, and John (Ginger) Stewart, Sioux Falls; and sisters-in-law, Pam (Tom) Larson, Sioux Falls, and Lisa (Greg) Goembel, Sioux Falls; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Al; brother-in-law, Kevin Marczak; and nephew, Michael Marczak. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 5, at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 6, at Calvary Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Herb B. Cleveland officiating. Lunch will follow. Interment will be at 1:30 p.m. at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis. Sandy dearly loved family and friends; there was not a stranger in her life. Her life was full and a testament to who she was.
