Sandra "Sandi" Corine Kurry

Sandra “Sandi” Kurry died Tuesday, June 16, 2026 at the age of 76. She passed away at the Monument Heath Home Plus Hospice House in Rapid City, SD.

Sandra Corine Gustafson was born on October 1st, 1949 to Oscar Alfred and Stella Viola Gustafson. Sandra was the youngest of her two sisters Noreen and Karen. They all lived on a farm south of Arnegard. They had a wonderful mom and dad and life together. When Sandra graduated high school, she moved to Minot, North Dakota and worked at Midwest Federal for ten years. There she met William Kurry and had their first daughter, Traci. William and Sandra then moved to Williston, North Dakota and opened a mobile home business. A year and a half later their second daughter came, Jodi. William then died on February 8th, 1980 due to an accident.

Sandra, Traci, and Jodi then moved to Hill City, South Dakota in 1988. Sandra worked in Hill City, South Dakota for several years. Then in the summer of 1996, Sandra moved to Oregon since both her daughters Traci and Jodi graduated from High School. Sandra lived and worked in Oregon until 2010 when she retired.

She then moved back to Rapid City, SD to enjoy her retirement and be close to family. During her retirement she was active in the local VFW and her church Calvary Lutheran. Sandra also loved to read, travel, and spend time with family and friends.

Sandra is survived by her daughter Traci (Casey) Eaton of Hermosa, SD; sister Noreen (Chuck) VanNurden of Longview, WA; sister Karen (Sherm) Heggen of Billings, MT; Sister-in-Law Sharon (Fred) Randall of Georgetown, Maine; Sister-in-Law Debbi (Garritt) Toohey of Rye Beach, NH, Grandsons Benjamin and Bram; along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her husband (William Kurry), daughter (Jodi Kurry), parents (Oscar and Stella Gustafson), In-Laws (William and Althea Kurry), and brother-in-law (Bob Kurry).

Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be Thursday, June 25, 2026 at 10:00 am at Calvary Lutheran Church in Rapid City.

Burial will be at a future date at the Riverview Cemetery in Williston, North Dakota.
