Sandra, 'Sandy' Ruth Whitcher 70 of Rapid City, SD passed away on April 8, 2026 while recovering from a double lung transplant at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville FL. She was diagnosed with Pulmonary Fibrosis in 2023.

Sandy lived a life of compassion and service, working as a nurse in Pediatrics, Home Health, Same Day Surgery and as a Medical Case Manager. She cared deeply for her clients and all those whom she met. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, loving wife, cherished sister and daughter, and a loyal friend to many. Her kindness, strength, and steady presence touched countless lives.

Her Christian faith was a central part of who she was. She loved the Lord and carried that love into the way she treated others with grace, patience and generosity.

She is survived by her husband Michael; her three children: Sacha, Miranda and Lucas; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren; four siblings and many others who loved her deeply.

She was preceded in death by her father, Lloyd Travis; her mother Diane Eidsness; her stepfather, Harry Eidsness and her brother Tony Travis.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. MST on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at First Assembly of God Church in Rapid City (4905 Mt Rushmore Rd).

She will be remembered for her caring heart, her unwavering faith, and the love she gave so freely. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
