RAPID CITYSara J. Arneson, 53, died at Rapid City Regional after a courageous battle with cancer. Sara was born on November 13, 1954, in Wagner, to Clarence A. and Kathryn (Collins) Arneson. She moved to Rapid City with her parents at the age of five and attended school there. Sara graduated from Rapid City Stevens High School in 1972 and went on to attend Black Hills State University. She graduated with a degree in Accounting and has worked for the South Dakota Department of Revenue for the past 25 years, attaining the position of Senior Auditor. Sara was a member of Laureate Mu Sorority, a local chapter of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, Blessed Sacrament Church and the Red Hat Club. She was an avid reader, loved to travel and also liked to bead and crossstitch. Survivors include her father, Clarence Arneson, Rapid City; her beloved Yorkie, Brandy; three aunts, two uncles and many cousins. Sara was preceded in death by her mother in October of 2006 and her grandparents. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. today, at the Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home, 2700 Jackson Blvd, with a Christian wake service at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be offered at 10 a.m. on Thursday, March 13, at Blessed Sacrament Church, 4500 Jackson Blvd, with Father Andrzej Wyrostek presiding. Burial will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery in Rapid City. Contributions may me made to the cancer research organization of the donors choice.
