Rapid City Shirley E. Carpenter, 75, Rapid City, died Thursday, February 10, 2011 at the Rapid City Regional Hospital. Shirley is survived by her husband: Jack L. Carpenter of Rapid City; two sons: Todd [Becci] Carpenter of Boise, Idaho and Ron Carpenter of Anchorage, Alaska; two daughters: Jackie [John] Battey of Tacoma, WA and Cris [Gerry] Minor of Rapid City, SD; ten grandchildren; one great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her parents. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home with Rev. Pat Karn officiating. Burial will be held at 1:00 pm at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis, SD.
