Black Hawk - Shirley J. Harbert passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, January 21, 2022 at the age of 81.

Shirley was born in Wheatland, Wyoming and had six siblings. She married Charles Harbert in 1957 and was divorced in 1990. She raised five kids, Valerie, Raymond, Sandra, Vincent, and Vanessa. She worked at Dolphin Inc. in Phoenix, Arizona making the heads to Ping golf clubs for 27 years until she retired and moved to Mountain Home, Idaho. About three years later, in 2004, she settled in Black Hawk, SD and made that her home.

Shirley loved her family, having a good meal, playing bingo, and watching Westerns. If you visited her home, she would show off the latest pictures of her six great grandkids on her Grandpad. She didn't have a bad word to say about anyone and those that knew her would describe her as kind and sweet. She was very generous with the meals and baked goods she made. Many people received her fudge, coffee cake, and poppy seed bread. She would speak to anyone, so there was never a stranger to her.

She is preceded in death by her father, Fred Goetz, mother, Ella (Leinweber) Goetz, and her son, Vincent Harbert.

Surviving siblings are Freddie (Glenda) Goetz of Wyoming, Jerry (Sandy) Goetz of California, Margaret Lohre of California, Jimmy Goetz of California, Steven Goetz of California and Patty Goetz of California. Her surviving kids are Valerie Jurkiewicz of AZ, Raymond Harbert of OK, Sandra Harbert of AZ and Vanessa Weischedel of SD. She has six grandkids, Bethany, Michael, and Alyssa in Arizona, Kristin in Minnesota, and Jessica in Wisconsin, and Cole in South Dakota. She has six great grandchildren, Charles, Evan, and Meliodas in Arizona, Tyler and Avery in Minnesota, and James in Wisconsin.

Services will be held Saturday, January 29, 2022, 10:00 a.m. at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home in Rapid City, South Dakota.
