Shirley Harris, 98, died Friday, March 8, 2026 at Peaceful Pines Senior Living in Rapid City.

Shirley Jane Larson was born February 15, 1928 in Wausau, Wisconsin to Ivan and Viola (Fricke) Larson.

She attended school at Marshfield, WI and graduated in 1945. She first moved to Minneapolis and then to Seattle, WA and then to Portland, Oregon where she met Delbert Harris in the same boarding house.

She married Delbert Harris on July 31, 1954 in Portland, Oregon. They moved to California in 1955, settled in the Anaheim area and bought a house. They moved to Rapid City on December 25, 1990 and have continued to live here until her death.

Survivors include their daughter: Nancy (Art) Edwards of Lewisville, Texas; one granddaughter: Andrea Edwards; two nieces and one nephew whom they raised after the death of their parents: Linda Larson, Carol (Mike) Dawson, and Lowell Larson.

Visitation for Delbert and Shirley will be 10:00 am Friday, August 28 at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home with Memorial Service at 11:00 am.

Burial Service will be 12:30 pm Friday, August 28 at Black Hills National Cemetery and there will be Military Honors for Delbert performed by the Rushmore VFW Post #1273 Honor Guard and the United States Navy Honor Team.
