Shirley B. Hunter, 93, of Rapid City, died peacefully on Saturday, September 3, 2022, at Monument Health Rapid City Hospital.

Shirley was born on July 21, 1929, to Elias and Mary Salamie, in Brockton, Massachusetts.  Shirley went on to marry Bernard Rudolf Hunter on December 9, 1949.  While married they travelled the country for forty years with their popular jazz band, "The Tones."  During their travels they met many interesting people and made many wonderful lifelong friends.  Shirley brough joy, music and wonderful entertainment to everyone she connected with.  Her heart was always full of joy and laughter, which gave her a life full of love, adventure and lasting friendships from people all over the country.

Graveside services will be held at 10 am on Wednesday, Sept. 7, at Pine Lawn Memorial Park.
