RAPID CITY - Dr. Stanley E. Johnson, 70, died Monday, Nov. 8, 2010, at the Fort Meade VA Medical Center. When Stan was growing up, he and his stepfather enjoyed fishing for salmon and trapping crab. Stan and his son, Steve, enjoyed a few hunting and fishing trips together as well as camping and fishing trips with his wife. He loved salmon fishing! Stan was stationed in Vietnam, Korea, Alaska, and Japan while serving in the U.S. Air Force for 20 years, retiring as a Master Sergeant. He was always very proud of his years of service to his country. Survivors include his wife, Clara Johnson, Rapid City; his son, Steve and Karen Johnson, Tacoma, Wash.; his daughter, Christina Jorgensen, West Palm Beach, Fla.; granddaughter, Monique; grandson, Nick; and three great-grandchildren. Memorial Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 29, at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis. Military honors will be provided by the Ellsworth Air Force Base Honor Guard. A procession will leave at 10:15 a.m. from Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be made to Fort Meade Hospice.
