Mesa, AZ - Steve Sibell, age 81 passed away peacefully on Saturday December 2, 2023, at home holding his wife Janet's hand.

He was born July 17, 1942 in Yankton S.D. to Cy and Willi Sibell. He spent his early years in Clark S.D. then moving to Rapid City and then to Deadwood for High School where he met the love of his life, Janet Rypkema. They were married December 27, 1962. They had 3 daughters that they are so proud of.

He served in the Army in Vietnam. He graduated from Black Hills State University and went on to own several successful businesses in the area. His family was the most important thing to him. He enjoyed camping trips, lake days, & hunting trips. After retirement to Arizona he loved playing golf, pickleball, wood carving.

He is survived in death by his wife Janet Sibell; daughters Janell Mattison; Stacy Ulmer & Family; & Tracy Gould & Family.

Interment will be at 11:00 am Friday, June 21, 2024, at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis with full military honors. A reception will follow at the Rapid City Elks Lodge, 3333 Jolly Lane, 57703.

In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children or The American Cancer Society.

He will be greatly missed.
