Rapid City – Steven Wayne Nanto, 63, died Tuesday, November 11, 2025 at Monument Health Rapid City Hospital.

He was born January 7, 1962 in Okinawa, Japan to Harold and Mitzuko Nanto.

Steve moved to Rapid City in 1998. Then in 2003 he met the love of his life and soul mate Nikki. The have been happily married since 2004.

Steve enjoyed fishing, camping, and the great outdoors as well as spending time with his family and friends.

Steve was preceded in death by his father Harold Nanto and his grandparents.

He is survived by his wife Nichole "Nikki" Nanto, his mother Mitzuko "Mitzi" Nanto of Colorado, his brother Patrick (Rita) Nanto and two nieces: Kayla and Rayna of Colorado; three sons: Michael, Tim, Zach; two daughters: LaRiesha (Jason) Piebanga and Mariah (Robert) Edsell; and 8 grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life is to be determined at a later date.
