Susan "Sue" K. Skalisky 61 of Rapid City passed away Thursday, May 12, 2022.

A celebration of her life will be 10:30am Saturday, May 21, 2022, at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home, with Rev. Chris Baesler officiating. Inurnment will follow at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Rapid City. Online condolences can be left at www.osheimschmidt.com

Sue was born April 7, 1961, in Wadena, MN to Harland Jerry Skalisky and Rosella Alice Rach. She grew up on her family's farm near Wadena, MN. She grew up with her four siblings and mother and father.

She graduated from Wadena-Deer Creek Highschool. She was part of the State winning softball team in 1979. After graduation she attended Brainerd Technical College.

She was blessed with her son Brett Skalisky in 1987. Sue was a dedicated mother first and foremost and spent her life enjoying and attending Brett's sporting events and supported him in any and all of his interests.

She was also blessed with her grandchildren who were her constant joy. She doted on them and loved to sew special blankets and outfits for them. You could find her making handmade items for each grandchild and loved to bake and cook for them.

She loved to collect Pepsi items and had a love of collecting bears. She loved playing solitaire games, doing crossword puzzles, sewing, baking, shopping at antique and thrift stores, and watching Nascar. She collected recipes and was always trying a new one to share with her family. As a born Minnesotan, she could make the best hot dishes around. Later in life, Sue came to love Rapid City and the Black Hills and enjoyed spending time with her friends and family.

Sue is survived by her son Brett (Sylvia) Skalisky, brothers; Steve (Jane) Skalisky, Scott Skalisky, sisters; Sheryl (Allan) Vandenberghe, Sally (Kim) Wood, 4 grandchildren; Riley, Maria, Chloe, and Emily Skalisky.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents.
