Suzanne Marie Van Boening, 57, was born on January 3, 1961, in Rapid City, SD, and passed away on May 2, 2018. She was the fourth of five children born to William G. and Dorothy J. Porter. Suzanne married Brent Van Boening on May 15, 1983, in Elko, Nevada, and they had three children, Matthew Baron, Maxwell Phillip, and Roxanne Marie. From those three children, Suzanne was blessed with two amazing grandchildren, Rainie Aaliyah and Carson Lawrence.

Suzanne was passionate about helping women and children and worked as an advocate at the Woman and Children's Shelter. She loved animals, from her childhood dog, Rosie, to the loneliest neighborhood stray. She always wanted to help others no matter what, even if it was giving away her last dollar or the shirt off her back. She was a loving grandmother, mother, sister and friend to all. She will always be missed and never forgotten for her kindness, love, and strength.

Suzanne is survived by her three children, Matthew Baron Van Boening, Maxwell Phillip Van Boening, and Roxanne Marie Van Boening, all of Rapid City, SD; four sisters, Rebecca A. Porter and Elizabeth J. Porter of Rapid City; Anne L. Porter of Fort Wright, KY, and children, Andrew and Anthony DiPuccio); Marnie (and Robert) Mekruit of Cleveland, Ohio and children, Lela and Hailey; her father-in-law, Lawrence Van Boening, and the father of her children, Brent Van Boening of Rapid City, SD.

Services for Suzanne will be held on Thursday, May 10, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at the Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home, 2700 Jackson Boulevard, Rapid City, SD 57702, followed by a celebration of life from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Eagle's Club, 1410 Centre Street, Rapid City, SD 57703.
