Obituary

RAPID CITY--Thelma E. Wagener, 80, died at Rapid City Regional Hospital on Thursday, May 27, 2010. She was born on January 10, 1930, in Isabel, to Lloyd and Lydia (Berreth) Badure. She was united in marriage on June 24, 1951, in Miles City, Mont., to Robert Wagener. She, along with her family, resided in Isabel, West Seattle, Wash., Bodfish, Calif. and Rapid City. Thelma was involved in many volunteer organizations including Cathedral Altar Society, Minnelazahan Senior Center, the American Legion Auxiliary and Forty and Eight. She had a strong faith and rarely missed mass wherever she was. Thelma leaves behind good friends and was very thankful for all the help and support provided by those good friends and neighbors in Rapid City. Survivors include her son Alan (Lynne Whitcomb) Wagener, Scottsdale, Ariz.; two brothers, (twin brother) John (Jeanne) Badure, Mobridge and Allen Badure, Belvidere; four sisters, Martha Schreiber, Miles City, Emma Hettich, Auburn, Wash., Vi (Walt) Hagstrom, Lake Isabella, Calif. and LaVon (Ramsey) Adair, Hysham, Mont.; a sister-in-law, Regina Conrath and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bob in 1994, brothers, Albert, Rufus and Edwin "Bill" and sisters, Hilda Patrick, Edna Ewalt, Sally Thompson and Kay Gill. Mass of Christian burial will be offered at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 2, at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Perpetual Help with Rev. Michel Mulloy presiding. Private family interment will be in Black Hills National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, Rapid City Chapter 3, 101 E. Madison, Rapid City, SD 57701.
