Theresa Dowling Braddock, 53, of Rapid City, died unexpectedly on Friday, November 24, 2017 in Rapid City.

She was born in Rapid City on June 28, 1964 to Robert H. and Frances M. (Tuscher) Dowling. Theresa grew up in Rapid City, graduating from Central High School in 1984 and earning her Bachelors of Nursing Degree from South Dakota State University in Brookings, SD.

Theresa worked in the Neo Natal Intensive Care ward of Rapid City Regional Hospital. She loved working with the babies and took a lot of pride in her job. Theresa was very intelligent and taught some Nursing Classes. She was very talented in many artistic genres and came to be very spiritual in the Lakota tradition.

Theresa will be remembered as someone with a quick wit, wonderful sense of humor, a contagious laugh and someone who had a soft spot for a stray cat or dog. One of her favorite sayings was "cool beans".

She is survived by her spiritual partner, Marlin Sandborn, Rapid City, her brother, Gary (Maureen) Dowling, nieces; Stephanie Dowling (Chad Eschmeyer) and Sarah (Adam ) Kirsch, four great nephews and two great nieces, all of Rapid City.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her nephew, Jakob Dowling in 2006.
