Therese J. Perisic, 96, of Rapid City, passed away at Fountain Springs Healthcare on Friday, January 19, 2018.
She was born on January 31, 1921, in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Louis and Philomene (Galletto) Pannetier. Therese grew up and graduated high school in Chicago. Shortly after high school, Therese and her sister, Emily moved to Rapid City to work for Western Union.
On July 22, 1952, she was united in marriage to Joseph Perisic at Immaculate Conception Cathedral. To this union were born 2 girls, Margaret and Kathryn. She raised her family and worked in food service at several area schools. After the girls were gone, Therese was employed by US Bank in the bookkeeping department. She retired from the bank, but was soon back working part time for Steve Newnum Photography.
Therese was a member of Blessed Sacrament Parish, Catholic Daughters of America and volunteered for Hospice of the Hills and Rapid City Regional Hospital. She enjoyed her dogs, her flower garden and was an avid organ, piano and guitar musician.
Survivors include her 2 daughters, Kathy (Rick) Downey, Piedmont and Margaret Heller, Lakewood, CO. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Joseph in 1990; her sister Emily Hartmann, her brother Max and a step-son Jimmy in 1956.
Christian funeral mass will be offered at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 23, at Blessed Sacrament Church with Fr. Adam Hofer presiding. Visitation will be one hour prior to mass. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
The family would like to express their gratitude for the wonderful care Therese received from the staff at Echo Ridge Assisted Living, her home for the past 4 years.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorial gifts be directed to the Humane Society of the Black Hills, 1820 E. St. Patrick Street, Rapid City 57701. Please include "In Memory of Therese Perisic" with the donation.
