Hermosa Trevor Joseph Whitehead, 10, Hermosa died Saturday, May 21, 2011 in Rapid City as a result of an accidental drowning in Rapid Creek. Trevor Joseph Whitehead was born October 15, 2000 to Jennel Whitehead and Jason Ayers. Growing up Trevor lived with his parents Kevin and Linda Hayes and sister Kortney. He attended Hermosa Elementary School. Trevor was an Angel that was taken way too soon. He touched a lot of lives in his short time that he was with us. He loved playing his X-Box Live, hunting, fishing, camping, swimming, and making rap videos with his cousins, playing cards, risk, and he loved a good challenge of Chess. He also loved going to the car races, riding horses with his grandpa YuVonne, go rock hunting, and last but not least he loved Mac and Cheese. Places he wanted to visit were New York City, the Capital and Heaven. A memorial will be established in Trevors honor. Survivors include his mom and dad: Linda and Kevin Hayes of Hermosa; his biological parents: Jennel Whitehead of Lincoln, NE and Jason Ayers of Rapid City; two sisters: Ivy Jean Ayers of Rapid City and Kortney Nicole Scheffert of Hermosa; and grandparents: Kenneth and Mary Lou Ayres of Rapid City. He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents: YuVonne & Rubi Knapp, great-grandfather: Robert Schunot; great-grandmother: Geraldine Whitehead; great-grandfather: Roy Davis; great-grandmother: Bernice Davis; and great-grandparents: Theodore & Doris Ayers. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 25 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home, 2700 Jackson Boulevard, Rapid City. Services will be held on Thursday, May 26 at 2:00 pm at Calvary Lutheran Church, 5311 Sheridan Lake Road, with Rev. Dwight Stensgaard officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Lawn Memorial Park, Rapid City.
