RAPID CITY- Twyla Faye (Convey) Jones died Friday, July 19, 2013 at Rapid City Regional Hospital Auxiliary Hospice House. She was born in Draper, South Dakota to James and Rachel (Lawrence) Convey on June 9, 1928. The family moved to Rapid City in 1929 where she continued to live. She attended Rapid City schools graduating from Rapid City High School in 1946. She married Marlyn Jones on January 31, 1951 and they had three sons: Marlyn Jr., Thomas, and Patrick. Twyla was a housewife for many years before working as Parish Secretary at Trinity Lutheran Church for 10 years, an employee for Senator Larry Pressler's Rapid City Field Office for several years, then as a part time cashier for the City Finance Office for eight years. She enjoyed lunch with her sister, Zita, and playing bridge and visiting with friends. She spent the last 20 years providing for her son, Tom. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Donald Convey; sister, Zita Kauliz; and son Marlyn Jones Jr. Survivors include sons: Tom Jones, Rapid City; Pat (Marcy) Jones, Alliance, NE; grandson: Jason Jones, Rapid City; three granddaughters: Olivia Jones, Augusta, KS; Angela (Chase) Fooshee, El Dorado, KS; and Felicia (Jim) Follum, Laramie, WY. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 24 at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Wilbur Holz officiating.
