RAPID CITY – Tyler Theodore Thompson, 54, passed away on Tuesday, December 13, 2022, at Monument Health Rapid City Hospital.

Tyler was born June 17, 1968 in Eagle Butte, SD to Francis and Gwen Thompson.  As a student, he attended and graduated from Central High School in Rapid City.  In addition to ranch work, he was a talented craftsman creating custom leatherwork and beadwork items.  He could build beautiful saddles from start to finish.

He is survived by his mother, Gwen Houston of Piedmont, SD, father, Francis (Punch) Thompson of White Horse, SD, son, Phillip Mound of Rapid City, SD, brother, Roddy Thompson of Belle Fourche, SD, Sister, Mary Thompson of Rapid City, SD, as well as too many nieces, nephews, adopted siblings and other loving family members to list.

Tyler was preceded in death by his sisters, Bernadine Kay and Wanda Rae, his grandparents and many aunties and uncles.  Tyler requested to be cremated and a memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, Jan. 7, 2023, at the Mother Butler Center.
