Verle Gene Fenster 87 of Rapid City passed away Friday, December 1, 2023.

Visitation will be from 5:00-6:00 pm Wednesday, December 6 at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be 10:00 am Thursday, December 7 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Burial at Mt. View Cemetery.

He was born July 5, 1936 to Ralph and Alma Fenster at their farm home in Waco, NE. He graduated from Seward High School and served in the Naval Reserve for 8 years. He married Frieda Elizabeth Schumacher on July 20, 1958 in Mitchell, SD.

They started their family in Omaha, NE where Verle owned a drywall business and built two homes before moving to the Black Hills.

Verle was a business man. He partnered with Armstrong Fischer Fenster Auto Sales, then at the age of 35, became a part owner of Fischer Fenster Pontiac-GMC. His other ventures include selling real estate and Mt. View Car Wash, while continuing his passion for carpentry and building two homes in Rapid City.

Verle and Frieda were devoted members of Bethlehem Lutheran Church for over 50 years. They had numerous friends with shared interests, ranging from wine making, ski clubs, golf and wallyball outings.

Survivors include his beloved children Todd (Lana) of Rapid City, Tanya (Larry) Kincaid of Lone Tree, CO, and Amy Fenster of Castle Pines, CO.  Grandchildren Brant (Sanet) Fenster, Tanner (Teoni) Fenster, Brooke (Mike) Lui, Zach (Ashley) Kincaid, Conner (Jennie) Kincaid, Avery Scott.  Great grandchildren Wylder Kincaid, Cal Kincaid and great-great grandchild Israel Weeks.

He was preceded in death by his wife.
