Violet Elizabeth Williams was born March 9, 1926 to Frank and Myrtle (King) Williams at Scenic, SD. She attended school in Scenic and Wall. She moved with her parents to Hermosa, SD in 1947 where they ranched. She then left home and worked at dude ranches in Montana and later in Arizona . After receiving word that her mother was ill she returned home to care for her parents and to run the ranch. On January 10th, 1965 she married Myron Olson and to this union one daughter, Robin, was born. Horses were Violets true love, as were all animals. She had a gift of being able to nurse any animal no matter how ill or injured back to health. She was very patient and had a gentle soul. Violet loved her grandchildren and took great pride in them. Both of these loves were manifested by helping her grandchildren accumulate and care for a variety of pets. Violet was a kind and loving person and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her husband, Myron, daughter Robin and son-in-law Kory, three grandchildren, Kruse, Sage, and Bailey, a brother-in-law Jim Armstrong, several nephews and nieces, as well as many special friends and neighbors. She was proceeded in death by her parents, a sister Ida Marie Armstrong, and her brother Elmer Williams. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M. on Tuesday, August 18, 2009 at Osheim and Schmidt Funeral Home Services will be at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday August 19, 2009 at the Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Ellendorf of the Open Bible Church in Midland officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Park Cemetery in Hermosa. A memorial has been established to the Suncatchers Therapeutic Riding Academy.
