Virgil P. Graff, 91, died at a local nursing home on Wednesday, March 9, 2011. He served in the US Army from Sept. of 1941 until January of 1946. Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Graff, Rapid City; four children, David Graff, Cederburg, Wisc., Ronald Graff, Eugene, Ore., Gayle Vaught and James Graff, both of Rapid City; three step-children, Randy Erickson and Kendra Larson, both of Rapid City and Pam Chaussee, Ft. Collins, Colo.; two brothers, Paul Graff, Mitchell and Sylvan Graff, Billings, Mont.; 17 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be one hour prior to services, which will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 17, at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home with Rev. Dwight Stensgaard officiating. Burial, with military honors provided by VFW Post 1273 and the South Dakota National Guard, will be at Black Hills National Cemetery. A memorial has been established for Calvary Lutheran Church.
