IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Wanda Elizabeth
Sugden
November 5, 1959 – September 29, 2023
Wanda E. Sugden (Sweetie) made her final journey to be with God on September 29th, 2023. She was born November, 5th 1958 to James & Pauline (Labadessa) Galbraith in Rapid City, SD.
Wanda graduated from Stevens High School in 1978. Wanda married her soul mate Richard Sugden in May of 1983. They were blessed to have 40 years together that seemed to pass in the blink of an eye. She had the most beautiful smile that would light up any room when she walked in. Wanda made friends wherever she went and once you met her you knew that you had indeed found a lifelong friend. Her deepest passion was always keeping her sweetie out of trouble. She was always able to bring happiness to all the people she would visit with and had a knack for always finding a topic in common to make people feel loved. She was a cherished member of Calvary Lutheran Church and was very active with the alter guild. She loved spending every minute she could with Rich getting lost in the Hills anywhere they could. They loved visiting family in Montana and especially watching the sun rise at Flathead Lake. It was always interesting to Rich that as a young girl Wanda wouldn't get out of the car when she was at Mitchell Lake in the Black Hills fishing with her parents yet she was willing to spend all of her adult life in the great outdoors with Rich, you knew it was true love.
She is by survived by her loving husband Richard Sugden Rapid City SD, brother James Galbraith Jr. Rapid City SD, sister-in-law Charlotte Sugden Rapid City SD, brother-in-law Dale (Brenda) Sugden Galesburg, IL, aunts and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and great nieces and great nephews. Wanda" friends were endless from lifelong friends to people she met very recently.
She was preceded in death by her parents James Sr. & Pauline (Labadessa) Galbraith, Charlotte & John (Galbraith) Rowland, mother-in-law Marie Sugden, sisters-in-law Christine Sugden, Clarisse (Sugden) Brookens, numerous aunts, and uncles.
She has left an example which will continue to influence the lives of all who knew her for many years to come.
