Wayne K. Lund Memorial Obituary Wayne K. Lund, 60, Rapid City, died at his ranch near Hot Springs, June 30, 2008. Wayne was born July 19, 1947 to Sydney and Bernie (Haukos) Lund, in Montevideo, MN and grew up in Madison, MN. He married Marlys Fried on December 27, 1968 in Madison, MN. Wayne graduated from North Dakota State University in 1971 with a Bachelors Degree in Architecture, moving to Rapid City that same year. In 1980, Wayne started Lund Associates. He was a member of the national American Institute of Architecture, the South Dakota American Institute of Architecture, Elks Lodge #1187, South Canyon Lutheran Church and a past-president of the Jaycees. Wayne enjoyed hunting, fishing and farming, especially when he was with his sons. He traveled, worked and played all over the globe. He enjoyed flying his airplanes, both for business and pleasure, and sharing that with his family. Survivors include his wife Marlys Lund of Rapid City and 2 sons: Cameron Lund, and his wife, Jenny, of Rapid City; and Chris Lund, his wife Lynsey and granddaughter Julia, of Billings, MT. also his mother Bernice Lund of Glencoe, MN. Wayne was preceded in death by his father, Sydney Lund and his brother, Sydney Carter Lund. Visitation will be one hour prior to services, Thursday July 3, 2008, at South Canyon Lutheran Church in Rapid City. Services will be 4:00 PM, Thursday July 3, 2008, with Pastor Chris Baesler officiating. Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home, Rapid City, is in charge of arrangements. A memorial has been established by the family.
