RAPID CITY – Wayne Thomas Windenburg, 68, passed away on Wednesday, March 29, 2023. Wayne was born July 3, 1954, in Cedar Rapids, IA to Keith and Georgia Windenburg.  He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Lorraine; son, Chris of Louisville, KY; daughters, Tara (Steve) Sansenbach and Jodi Windenburg all of Cedar Rapids, IA.   He was also a loving grandfather to five grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

Wayne spent over 20 years in the water purification industry, working to provide clean drinking water to people worldwide.  He also put his love of dogs to use over the last 20+ years as the owner-operator and founder of Fido's Business, a pet waste removal company.

He was a season ticket holder for the Rapid City Rush and loved a good game of poker.   Wayne also enjoyed fishing in the Black Hills in his spare time.

Friends and family are invited to a memorial service on Saturday, April 1, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. to be held at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home.   A reception will follow at VFW Post 1273, 420 Main Street, Rapid City.
