Wenona Whitehorse was born on August 5, 1975, in Rapid City, South Dakota. She made her journey to the Spirit World on September 6, 2021, at Monument Health Hospice in Rapid City.

Wenona loved the outdoors and comedy. Her beautiful laugh, sense of humor, generous nature, and kindness will surely be missed

Wenona is survived by her mother's Cecelia HauKaas and Deb Rencountre and her Aunt Jeavene Runningshield. Wenona is also survived by her children that she loves and she felt so proud and blessed by them; her sons, Chaske Whitehorse, Claude Blackbird Parker, and Mr. C Parker; her daughters, Deshonia Malderado, Ezeriah Jeavene Walker, and Anaveah mylove Walker; her grandchildren, Ayessa Parker and Arien Blackbird Parker; her brothers, Shawn Whitehorse, Talon Whitehorse, Derrik (Duck) Hayes, Earl Rencountre III and Ben Rencountre; her sisters, Robin Picotte, Felicia Whitehorse, Yvonne Miller, Adele Dougherty, and Deloras Rencountre.

Wenona was preceded into death by her father; Earlwin James Rencountre Jr.; paternal grandparents Earlwin Sr. and Rebecca Rencountre, and maternal grandparents Cecelianna Bagola and Marvin HauKaas

Wake will be at 6 pm on Tuesday, Sept. 14, at St. Isaac Jogues Church.

Mass will be at 10 am on Wednesday, Sept. 15, at St. Isaac Jogues. Burial will follow at Pine Lawn Memorial Park.
