William H. Brandt, 84, Clearfield, Utah, formerly of Rapid City, died Saturday, Aug 1, 2015 in Clearfield Utah. Bill was born in Gettysburg, SD to William and Jennie (Osborne) Brandt on June 26, 1931. He lived in Agar SD until 1954 when he moved to the Black Hills with his family. Bill lived and worked in Rapid City until 1996. He moved to Denver, Colorado to be near his family until 2000 when he moved to Ogden, Utah to live near his daughters where he lived until passing away. He traveled the five state area as a salesman for Rainbow Vacuum Company and was known by many as "Rainbow Bill". Bill was a member of American Legion Post 22 in Rapid City, the Generals Club for Rainbow Vacuum Cleaner Company and Peace Lutheran Church. He was an avid country western music fan and especially loved Hank Williams. In his younger days he loved to strum a guitar and sing. One of his favorite farewells was "May the good Lord take a likin' to you". Bill is survived by his children; Mark William Brandt (Debra) of Albia, IA, Michael Ray Brandt (Cathy) of Chula Vista, CA, Debbie Kay Parker (Paul) of Sumter, SC, Tami Sue Thomasson of Layton, UT, his grandchildren: Heather Townsend, Bethany Page, Jonathan Brandt, Stephanie Simon, Mikayla Gucilatar, Tiffany Parker, David Thomasson, Aaron Brandt, and Alex Thomasson his great grandchildren; Ethan Simon, Clayton Brandt, Zoey Simon, Chelsea Brandt, Nora Page, Helen Page, Alessa Nawrocki, Mikail White, and Nadia Towery. He was preceded in death by his parents; William F. Brandt and Jennie Brandt, brother Donald Brandt and his Doris Smith.
