William "Bill" Piebenga 67 of Rapid City passed away Sunday, November 19, 2023 at Sanford Hospital Bismarck, ND.

Bill was born November 21, 1955 in Rapid City, the oldest child to Wayne "Bingo" and Roberta "Bobbie" (Arneson) Piebenga.

He was a man of many talents and passions who put his heart and soul into everything he did.

He was a world class craftsman who worked most of his life as a master carpenter, specializing in interior trim and custom woodworking.

He had an intense love of music with a dream of becoming a rock and roll star.  He started "Rufloc", then moved onto "Licx", then "Bind".  Even though he never made it to stardom, he never lost his passion for music.

He was a survivalist with a love for the outdoors, who mastered the art of hunting and fishing.  He also loved to grow his own food and prepare meals for his family.

Bill had a very unique sense of humor.  He was a prankster who put a lot of time, effort, and preparation into his pranks and jokes, all for a good laugh.

He was united in marriage on August 16, 2006 to Annabelle E. Espanol, although they were together for 10 years leading up to that.  She shared his love of the outdoors and enjoyed many years of exploring with Bill.  Their favorite time spent together was fishing and walking in the woods.

Bill left a lasting impression on everyone he met and will be forever missed.

He is survived by his wife Annabelle, children; Lea Piebenga of Raleigh, NC, Shana Piebenga of Jackson, MI, Dakota Piebenga of Raleigh, NC, brother; Scott Piebenga of Rapid City, sisters; Joni (Zane) Maliske of Rapid City, Teri Clements of Colorado Springs, CO, Cheryl Lucas of Rapid City, 7 grandchildren with one on the way, one great-grandchild on the way, and his beloved dog Blue.

He is preceded in death by his parents.
