Willowdean Ann Stephens was born September 2, 1934 in her grandmother's home in Burdette, SD to James and Marian (Olson) Fallon.

Willowdean grew up on the family farm near Burdette with her brother, Wilbert. She graduated from Notre Dame Academy High School in 1952 at Mitchell, SD. Her ambition was to become a nurse but she met Robert Stephens at a country dance and he stole her heart. Robert and Willowdean were married October 27, 1952 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Burdette. They lived on their farm near Miller, SD until they moved to Rapid City where they raised their family. Willowdean had a deep love for her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Willowdean was an avid volunteer with the YMCA, Hospital gift shop, 12 Apostles, and Meals on Wheels. She was a member of the TOPS Club and the Canyon Lake Senior Citizens Center where she enjoyed playing cards, dominos and other games. She attended Blessed Sacrament Church in Rapid City.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Earl Stephens on June 7, 2008; brother, Wilbert Fallon on August 2, 2017 and her children, Robert on September 20, 1954; Joseph on September 20, 1954; Kirk Allen on September 10, 1957 and Thomas on October 9, 1962.

Willowdean's survivors include her six children: Roderick, Salem, SD; Kellen (Melanie), Rapid City; Roberta (Perley), Seldovia, AK; Joel (Lesa), Wall; Laura (Lary), Lakeside, CA; Mark (Debbie), Las Vegas, NV; aunts: Avis Chipman, Miller; Amy Garman, Tulare; 12 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 25, at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home with a Christian Wake Service at 7 p.m.

Christian Funeral Mass will be offered at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 26, at Blessed Sacrament Church with Rev. Brian Lane presiding.

Interment will be at 1:30 p.m. at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis.
