Wilma Joan Yardley (Blindwoman) was born in Clinton, Oklahoma to the late Thomas and Minnie Blindwoman Jr., her paternal grandparents were Thomas Blindwoman Sr. And Alice Timber Woman, her maternal grandparents were Josie Rednose and Willam Harrison/James Rednose. Wilma was raised in Kingfisher Oklahoma where she attended school and graduated in 1976 from Kingfisher High School. Wilma moved to Tulsa Oklahoma where she attended college for a short time and would later follow her baby sister Clara to Haskell Indian Nations University where she met Alan K. Bowman. From this union they had Alan Ross and Ernestine. Wilma later moved to Montana where she met the love of her life Albert Yardley and they were married on December 7, 1991. Wilma worked for St. Labre Mailing room for several years before going back to school at Chief Dull Knife College. Wilma and Albert made a home for their blended family in Ashland for several years, even welcomed their grandsons, Kaylan, Kyle and Terry for a couple of years in their home. Wilma later Graduated with her Associates from Dull Knife and continued her education along with our dad at the University of Montana in Missoula in 2001. After both of our parents graduated from University of Montana they moved to Rapid City, South Dakota where they lived happily with family until our dad passed away in 2020. This time period was very difficult for our family. Our mother contracted Covid and was placed in a medically induced coma due the complications Covid had on her body. While put in a medical coma our dad passed away from complications from Covid. She lost her husband, had a heart attack and experienced a stroke while in the coma. Yet she made it through that difficult time. After which she moved to Billings, MT to be closer to family and her grandchildren. Wilma hadn’t fully recovered as the whole ordeal took a toll on her body and mind. She had proven to be one tough lady. During her time in Billings she had brain surgery to remove a tumor and healed from a fractured hip that we were unaware of for about a month. None of which compared to the ache of losing the love her life and the frustration that accompanied the constant pain. Sunday the 23rd of August she went to bed and passed away in her sleep. We’re are very thankful that our mother went to sleep and awoke in Heaven where our dad, grandmother, her sisters and other family awaited her. More importantly we are thankful that she is no longer in pain. Wilma is survived by her sons “adopted” Dion Killsback, (Evelyn) Al Bowman(Rhiannon), daughter Ernestine Bowman(Orlando) and stepdaughter Sage Yardley along with her grandchildren AJ Bowman, Frankie Bowman, Timber Hale, Kenna Lujan, Chaske Lujan, Julia Yardley and Akicita Whitewoman. She is also survived by her sisters Vergenta Littlecalf, Tommie Whitewoman (Vernell), and Clara Blindwoman and brothers Alo Rednose and Bobby Tasso(Betsy). Preceded in death her late husband Albert Yardley, parents Thomas and Minnie Blindwoman Jr. as well as her late sisters Lolita Coffey and Ethel Blindwoman. Pallbearers are Orlando Hale, Shayne Whitewoman, VJ Whitewoman, Tory Medicinebull, Heath Medicinebull, and Akicita Whitewoman. Honorary pallbearers are Alo Rednose, Bobby Tasso, Andy Rednose, Gabe Rednose, Theo Blindwoman, and all her grandchildren as well as extended family. Please forgive us as it is not our intention to leave anyone out or not acknowledge particular family as she is loved by a large family.
