Yvonne Maurine Krebs Kruse Henthorne, 85, of Rapid City passed away on January, 8, 2016 at Fountain Springs Health Care facility due to complications from a fall and neuro surgery.

She was born in Quinn, SD to Harold & Alta (Melchert) Krebs on August 18, 1930. She lived her whole life in South Dakota.  Yvonne was united in marriage to Cecil Kruse in 1948.  To this union were born two sons, Calvin and Craig.  She was later divorced and married James Henthorne in 1967.  They divorced in 1976.

Yvonne worked at the Quinn Post Office in 1948, graduated from Quinn High School, class of 1949 and moved to Igloo, SD, in 1956, and finally to Rapid City in 1957.  She worked for Bryan Cleaners, was an Avon Sales Representative, a waitress and hostess at the Rapid City Elks Club, and the hostess at Roman's Ron Du Vue until her retirement in 1991.  She lived at the Churchill Apartments until her stroke in June of 2015, when she moved to Fountain Springs Health Care.

Yvonne is survived by her two sons, Calvin (Teresa) Kruse of Carlsbad, CA; Craig Kruse of Phoenix, AZ and her grandson, Kenan Kruse of Phoenix, AZ. She also survived by her sister, Evelyn Warren of Rapid City, her brothers: Mervyn (Corrine) Krebs and Donald (Shirley) Krebs of Rapid City; Douglas (Gloria) Krebs of Loveland, CO; Bartlett Krebs of Tacoma, WA and George (Alice) Krebs of Mills River, NC; a very special niece, Kimberly (Robert) Horsley and special nephew Kelly Kellem both of Rapid City, SD; and additional fourteen nieces and seventeen nephews, and numerous cousins.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Alta Krebs , her sister Zelda (William) VanOurKerk of Philip, SD; her brother Leland Krebs of Denver, CO; nephew Ronald Kellem, and niece Lori Krebs both of Rapid City; her maternal grandparents Herman and Della Merchert and paternal grandparents Christian and Louise Krebs all of Quinn, SD.

Yvonne requested no funeral services. She will be cremated and buried at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Quinn, SD next to her parents. A family memorial service will be held in the summer of 2016.
