Rapid City – Beverly Jean Butler, 75 died Thursday, Thanksgiving Day, November 28, 2024 at the Village at Skyline Pines.
She was born August 23, 1949 in Deadwood, SD to Ivan William and Lucille Ann (Matt) Butler. She grew to adulthood in Belle Fourche and graduated from high school in 1967. She did her undergraduate at Black Hills State University in Spearfish in 1971 and received her Master's degree in 1984 from Purdue University.
She worked in Manawa, WI as a school teacher, worked for the City of San Clemente in San Clemente, CA and for State Department of New Mexico in Sante Fe.
Bev fought a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease. The most important thing about Bev was she loved and cared for all animals.
Survivors include her sister: Barbar Allum of Rapid City; niece: Katie Bell of Rapid City; nephew Mike Allum of Pocahontas, IA; 5 great-nephews and nieces; many wonderful cousins, and her many friends who mostly are in New Mexico.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her grandparents.
Burial Service will be held in the spring of 2025 at the Hill City Cemetery.
