Henry was the only child born to Henry and Mae (Visger) Maicki on February 14, 1932 in Detroit, Michigan.  Henry attended South Eastern H.S. and Wayne State University before he enlisted in the Air Force Reserves in 1950 and was stationed at Biggs Field, El Paso, Texas.  He was trained as an Aircraft Mechanic including B-29 Engine. He was assigned to the Maintenance Squadron and was discharged back to Detroit in 1953.

At the University of Michigan – Ann Arbor, Henry was in the Phi Delta Theta Fraternity and was recruited into G.E's Executive Training Program and was promoted to Outside Sales.  He then became a District Manager at Electric Supply and then worked as an Electrical Estimator at Motor City Electric for 12 years where he was promoted to VP and transferred to Green River, Wyoming.

Wyoming is where the western Maicki- family tradition began.  Henry bought a ranch, raised cattle and started H-C Galloways-Electrical Engineering and Contracting.  Henry thoroughly enjoyed his work until his retirement.

Henry and the Honorable G. Carol (State Senator - Meade Co.) were happily married for 47 years until her untimely death in 2004.  Henry was a dedicated family man and adored his five children and grandchildren.  Henry remained a devout Catholic his entire life and was very active in his church, Our Lady of Black Hills since 1985.

Henry (the gentle giant) was a gregarious, social person who loved to tell stories of his life's adventures whether it be, racing his hydroplane boat on the Detroit River, sailing the Great Lakes, buying a ranch in   Wyoming to traveling the world.

Henry was an avid sports fan and could recall almost every statistic of his beloved Broncos!  Henry also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and golfing, playing bridge and loved to travel, including fine dining!

Henry is survived by his children: Matt (Jan West) of Rapid City, SD, Julia, Pecos, NM and Mary (John Farrell) of Rapid City, SD, grandchildren: Steven & Matt, of CA, Tia Marie, Rock Springs, WY, Jason (Tasha) Spearfish, SD, Rebecca (Rob) Bozeman, MT, and many great-grandchildren (9 and counting)!

Henry is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Carol, his sons Henry (Duke) and Scott.

Condolences can be sent to Mary Maicki-Farrell 5007 Chalkstone in Rapid City, SD 57701
